Overview

Our clinical laboratory supports routine outpatient tests, pre-operative work-up, antenatal screening and round-the-clock requests from the emergency department, NICU and ICU. Sample collection happens at the lab counter or, for inpatients, at the bedside. Reports are available the same day for most routine tests; urgent and stat reports are turned around within an hour for emergency patients.

Complete Blood Count (CBC) & ESR
Blood sugar — fasting, post-prandial, random, HbA1c
Liver function tests (LFT)
Renal function tests (RFT) — urea, creatinine, electrolytes
Lipid profile
Thyroid profile (TSH, T3, T4)
Urine routine & microscopy
Pregnancy & antenatal screening tests
Microbiology — culture & sensitivity, Gram stain
Pre-operative work-up panels

Patient preparation

Fasting tests (sugar, lipid, LFT): 8–12 hours overnight fasting; water is allowed
Bring previous reports and the consultant's lab requisition where available
Inpatients: samples are collected at the bedside by the nursing team
